Culture Night Friday 23rd September
Kerry County Museum will be offering a special programme of events from 6pm-10pm – all free of charge. This includes a late night viewing of our special exhibition Kerry Lives and all other displays. Another highlight is a performance by Sliabh Mish CCE – two hours of traditional Irish Music, Song and Dance (7-9pm). After listening to a few tunes why not use the evening to explore some of the treasures on display in the Museum Gallery? If you always wanted to be an archaeologist have a go at a “Bone Investigator” workshop and excavate a skeleton. Finally, travel back in time in our Medieval Experience to stroll through the streets of Tralee in the year 1450 – complete with the sounds and (rather nasty…) smells of a medieval town.
Kerry Lives 1950-73 now open!
Our new exhibition‘Kerry Lives’ is a portrait of life in Kerry from 1950 to 1973, illustrated from the Kennelly Archive.
